This thesis is mainly about the analysis and design of passive filters in Low-Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) substrate. As the components of filters, capacitors and inductors of multi-layer structure in LTCC are analyzed, respectively, and compared with those of planar structure in physical and electronic characteristics, by simulation and experiments. It can be seen that multi-layer structure is better for smaller area and higher Q-factor. As for the filters, the design progress from low-pass prototype to band-pass block diagram and how to implement in LTCC are given by network analysis and analysis of other filters in LTCC, respectively. For demonstration, three design examples of a distributed-parameter band-pass filter, a band-pass filter with three transmission zeros and a dual-band filter are given. The good agreement between analytical results and experimental ones show the reliability of the design and implementation. |
