Meterwave radar was a major antiaircraft system invented and used in the World War II. It has obvious superiority in anti-stealth and anti-radiation missile. But, meterwave radar has many disadvantages, such as wide beamwidth, low precision and low distinguishability, especially in elevation dimension, meterwave radar has poor height finding precision because of multipath reflection. This thesis focuses on azimuth and elevation super-resolution approaches and implementation techniques of meterwave radar. For the estimation of azimuth, we propose three methods to overcome the limitations of the conventional super-resolution approaches. The first one is the modification of the minimum variance method, the method uses the real-valued covariance matrix constructed from the unitary transformation of the conventional array covariance matrix to improve the estimation performance in the small snapshot numbers and coherent sources environment; The second method is based on unitary spatio-temporal correlation matrices with the aim to improve the performance of MUSIC algorithm in the correlated noise fields; The third one is to realize parametric super-resolution methods by Genetic Algorithm. The method overcomes great computation and local optimization of the conventional ones, and improves the performance of azimuth super-resolution for meterwave radar. For the estimation of elevation, we apply DML algorithm to heightfinding simulation. Analysis results show that the algorithm is a valid method for height finding in multipath environment. Finally, we realize real-time processing of array super-resolution algorithm using Daytona67 PCI Board.
