Development Of Digital Television Technology Research And Set-top Box

Digital Television (DTV) is the system used to transport, receive, process, store and control digital TV signals. It is a kind of Information Service being developed in the whole country which involves technology of computer, multimedia, cotnlnumcation and network. Set-top-boxes receive and transform digital TV signals into the signals which analog TV sets can display. It is an important transition product of DTV System . Based on the design of STB. this paper studies the theories related to Digital Television, including MPEG-2 and DVB SI . In this the hardware and software architecture of our set-top-box and the implementation of user interface sub-system of our set-top-box system based on the HMD2003 evaluation board and the Keil 51 toolset are presented.
