Grid is a new technology which has flourished quickly in recent years. Its occurrence has whipped up the next wave of internet technology. Computation grid originally aimed to combine supercomputers through internet so as to solve complex and large-scale computing problems. At present, the aim has evolved into combining various types of computers in different areas in a reasonable way and the highly integrated organic unity can supply powerful computing abilities to common users.Meanwhile, with the popularization of grid technology, grid service market has taken shape gradually. Computing abilities offered by computation grid will develop into a resource service like TV, telecom, water and power which must be bought. Whereas, there are large amount of application with different demands and large amount of widely-spread computation resources in grid environment. These resources have no overall control center and unified price mechanism. What's more, they are changing constantly. Therefore, grid schedule system should consider not only how to fulfill the application but also how to coordinate the interests between resource providers and users. That is why this paper attempts to seek a schedule model which can suit computation grid environment and adequately coordinate the interests of all sides. This paper is balanced as following. Firstly, it summarizes the basic theories of grid technology. Secondly, it discusses the schedule design of traditional distributed systems and the present grid projects. Thirdly, it analyzes the main problems involving computation grid schedule model. Finally, this paper develops a agent-based schedule model of computation grid and discusses the design of model structure, relevant databases and key technologies in detail.
