Mobile ad hoc network is a self-organizing and dynamically reconfigurable wireless network, which has scarce radio resource and battery power. These features lead to high frequency of rerouting operation and costing the limited resources, so severely degrade the performance of ad hoc networks. We present a new steady routing protocol based on mobility prediction in mobile ad-hoc network to overcome this disadvantage. In this paper, at first we discuss several prediction schemes and have performed extensive simulations to evaluate the performance of prediction schemes. The prediction of link availability is based on practical applications, and we introduce the measures which are applicable to study this problem and the further research works. Then we present a new measure to prediction mobility, which can predict the link availability at any time. The work we have do is significant for the research of routing protocols using mobility prediction in ad hoc networks.Based on this new prediction measure, we present a new steady routing protocol in a ad-hoc mobile network. In routing process,we first predict the link availability and achieve the path availability. Then we can find a steady path in all path which connect the source node and the destination node. The protocol can increase the rate of data successful delivery under the circumstance with networks topology rapid changing.
