With rapid growth of computer network technology and hardware, naturally new requirement for software development methodology has been brought forward, which includes distributed computing, client/server architecture, component-based model, inter-operatability open system, scalability, etc. That's why distributed architecture and component-based software development methodology came into being. Distributed architecture divides application system into three independent parts by layer, namely client application program, application program server and database server. While component architecture divides application system into small part by function, each part can communicate by interface. Application who based on distributed architecture and components have has advantages of scalability reliability easy development and maintenance.The paper summarizes the base theory of distributed architecture and component-based model, mainly discusses the method and principle of distributed architecture and component-based model. In this paper, we also described how to build a factual project based on distributed architecture and components, using a more effective develop tool - Delphi.
