| With the application of the network going depth in the society, the management of the network is becoming increasingly important. Network access control is the first thing should be considered in the networking management. And the techniques of the network access is developing rapidly, thus the challenge has been faced in network access control. The popular technologies such as PPPoE, 802.1x have each limitation and drawback so they can' t meet today' s request.The web-based access control is a newer technology, because this technology comes in forth not for a long time. And the web-based access control systems in existence are not perfectly, many virtues of this technology has not been well-known.In this paper we reviewed the current technology of the network access control and presented a solution by which we built our web-based access control system - WebNMS. We described the principles and implementations of the WebNMS and discussed how to meet the new requests of the network management in WebNMS in detail. Our system, developed by JAVA, used the Netfilter/iptables firewall subsystem under Linux, to offer good extensibility and good portability. Our design requires no special hardware or custom client software, resulting in minimal deployment cost and maintenance overhead. |
