The paper roots in the project "Research of innovated appearance design based on the esthetician's brain model", which is supported by National Nature Science Fund. We have built the frame of the esthetician's brain model in this project, and then we should build the study environment for brain model so that it can grow up. The paper builds a set of technique system used to the knowledge acquisition of product design. We mainly focus on the acquisition of the design knowledge on the web at the background of product creative design, integrated by artificial intelligent, expert system, intelligent search technology and text mining technology. The author adopts the means of integrating the theory research and software development, and do main research context including:1. Research on knowledge acquisition over Internet. Integrated by newly achievements of intelligent search and data mining, we build the technique system of acquiring the design information and abstracting design knowledge, as well as the mechanism of self-study and self-update.2. Research on information search method for product creative design. Aimed at the deficiency of search technology in the support of product design, we build concept dictionary for product design firstly, and then build concept semantic network at the base of it. The methods we adopt solve the problems of accumulating design materials and information in a certain extend.3. Research on design knowledge acquisition method from web materials and information. Aimed at the character of web text, on the one hand we acquire page topic keyword by the techniques of content extraction, participle/part of speech label, characteristic extraction, and realize the concept semantic network's extension by calculating the correlated degree and the similar degree; on the other hand, according to the similarity between XML and concept semantic network, we put forward to build a set of XML labels to sign the web text so that the knowledge can be saved in the web text, and then we store the knowledge in the text knowledge database.4. Based on the technique system referred to in this paper, we build a design knowledge acquisition prototype system. The system includes two modules: information search module and knowledge mining module. By these two modules, we can achieve the accumulation of design materials and the acquisition of design knowledge. The practice of system running proves thatour idea is useful and feasible. We believe that our system will help product designers acquire the knowledge they want in the future. The research will have a wide application field and a bright future benefit.
