Application of computer simulation in process control has brought enormous economic benefit, while the development of simulation software or system stays on a low level. Simulation platform may turn this development into an efficient process, shorten development period and ensure reliability of simulation software. A process real-time simulation platform on Windows 2000 is designed in this paper according to characteristics of process industry and real-time simulation.The architecture of real-time simulation platform is designed based on software engineering method and the framework of integrated simulation environment using bus-based system model and microkernel technology. Graphic modeling environment is designed with sufficient functions in order to support all simulation processes of modeling, debugging, running and analysis. Quantitative validation of model is detailed to meet the requirement of model appraisal. And principles for algorithm selection are presented also. Storage strategy of simulation database is designed through analysis of simulation data. The technical solution of memory real-time database is presented also. Drawing and storage of configurable surveillance screen is designed to help analyze simulation results.This platform is characterized by complete functions, low requirements of hardware and good prospects of application.
