With the rapid development of Internet, the voice over IP services will find a promising market. SP30ITG is the IP telephone gateway system manufactured by Xi'an DaTang Telephone Corporation, which adopts the widely accepted control signaling hierarchy, that is H.323 by ITU. Three kinds of signaling, RAS signaling, Q.931 call signaling and H.245 control signaling are engaged in the establishment of H.323 calling process.During the installation, debugging and interoperability testing of gateway systems, malfunctions can be detected if the signalings are monitored, thus to ensure the smooth operation and effective technical support for interoperability between gateways of different manufacturers.This paper discusses the design and implementation of signaling monitoring software based on the SP30ITG system. The main task is to monitor and capture the H.323 signalings including RAS, Q.931, H.245, and so on, then the captured signalings are filtered, decoded and displayed by tree charts according to different types. The recombination problem of the signaling transported by the TCP/IP protocol is mainly analyzed and solved in this paper.
