The Design And Realization Of The Full Analysis Mode Network Billing System

With the rapid development of network technology and significant increase of network transmission speed, network traffic and the number of accessing users show a positive growth trend. To limit the arbitrary of users' accessing, mitigate the network load, accelerate the information turnover speed, and enhance the network efficiency, the network management department would charge the users, especially for the international network traffic, the cost should be shared by all the accessing organizations according to the network flow. In this paper, the TCP/IP protocols are introduced, the principle of packet capture in data link layer is analyzed, and the implementation process and key technologies of network billing system under the promiscuous mode is studied with emphasis. The type and structure of packet in each protocol layer, and the infrastructure of packet filter are discussed. The design of packet capture class utilizing WinPcap Library function is implemented. Taking ASP.NET as development environment, Microsoft SQL Server2000 as background database, the issue designs and implements a network traffic billing system based on promiscuous mode. The test result shows that the system run meets the functional requirements and the performance is stable.
