The distributed application system with the character of network and different environment is the result of the network as a whole and the parallel processing for the distributed tasks.The middleware is a kind of component technology which constructs 3 layers of Client/Server foundation. It is a package of groupware located between operating system and Internet or application layer.It supports the computer environment of distributed application, realizes the transparent visit of long-range resource, shields the complexity of network and protocol using the interface of top-layer, offers the applied operation and the portability of software based on the distributed platform and operating system.The architecture of Client/Server based on transaction middleware is a typical kind of the distributed On-line Transaction Processing, becoming a major platform of enterprise information system, which offers communication of striding platform, loading balance, fault-tolerant and resumable ability, and strengthens a new generation middleware in common with 3-layer architecture provided with the strong security, excellent management and high availability in common. Numerous distributed system, different database and different network environment are closely linked up among an enterprise, offering the function of mutual operation on application layer.This paper discusses systematicly a series of concept, evolution, structure and localization of Client and Server on middleware argumentation at first. Then taking TUXEDO as an example, it analyses the character and mode of OLTP building up the application frame. At the same time, detailed pieces of composition and technological characteristic of TUXEDO are introduced.Secondly, deep analyses on integrality, loading balance, communication efficiency and security about TUXEDO are made in this paper, And combining the practical application, the bold transformation and optimization to technologies is separately carried on, which enhances systematic function in various degrees to meet the demand.Then, regarding TUXEDO as application service platform, one typical distributed application system is constructed, called Electronic Fund Transfer System. From angle of the development, the concrete course of development using transaction middleware and its superiority of application system is experienced.Finally, development trends in the future are brought forward, while the existent questions are announced in the middleware technology.
