As a new king of imaging technology, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging technology has evolved to satisfy a variety of application for both civilian and military users. The dissertation investigated the problem for simulation of SAR raw signal, focusing on the terrain-echo simulation and imaging algorithm. Large quantities of raw data which leads to valuable conclusion has been made.Firstly, the principle of high resolution SAR and theoretical imaging model were concisely introduced. Pulse compression for line frequency modulation pulse signal, resolution of range direction and azimuth direction, and Doppler history were discussed subsequently. In accordance with SAR signal processing, range immigration was also involved. Based on the analysis of the radar echo, we built up the SAR echo simulation models, including map model, motion model, antenna pattern model and imaging model. Because of the requirement of SAR imaging, the R-D and C-S imaging method were presentation. The simulation method of point-target, 2-D target and 3-D target was given in an airborne-SAR side-glance condition. Then the computer program was developed and some good imaging were obtained. In brief, the dissertation will be favorable to the development of SAR raw signal.
