This paper is a part of the important national defence research project- Research on the technique of three millimeter pulsed Radar. In this paper, the ranging circuit which is based on the complicated PLD(CPLD) is introduced in detail, and how to design and make the ranging circuit is introduced too. Furthermore, the question of feature extraction of three millimeter pulsed radar echo using wavelet neural network is investigated.For the electronic system of precision guidance weapon ,because of the limitation of its volume and power, it must be light, low power consumption, good performance, and work stably. The development of programmable device provides the condition for reaching the request. According to the need of task, it is stated in this paper that how to program CPLD with VHDL, how to design and make the ranging circuit of three millimeter pulsed radar. Through the work in this paper, the ranging precision is improved and the volume is minished.Target identification technique is one of the pivotal factors for accurate strike in precision guidance technique. Feature extraction is the important factor of target identification. Because of good time-frequency localization, it is suitable for wavelet to analysis the transient information of radar echo and extract signal feature. In this paper, wavelet neural network is used to extract the signal feature of three millimeter pulsed radar, and the simulation is done by the computer.
