Study Of Adaptive Filtering And The Filtering Algorithm

Abstract: The research of adaptive filtering algorithm is one of the most activity tasks, the goal that researchers want to pursue is to find an adaptive filtering algorithm that converge fast and compute simple. Based on the basic adaptive filtering principle, this paper introduces several typical adaptive algorithms and applications, then compare those algorithm's characters. Especially LMS algorithm and RLS algorithm are deeply analyzed. Due to the convergent speed and steady-state error are affected by the fixed stepsize and can not be improved simultaneously in classical LMS algorithm, this paper presents an improved algorithm of LMS. The new algorithm is better than classical LMS that is verified by computer simulation of adaptive channel equalizer, while the computational amount is only increased slightly. Theoretical analysis and computer simulations confirm the excellent properties of this algorithm.
