With great convenience, high efficiency and low-cost, Electronic Commerce has become a popular business transaction since 1990s. It has had great influence on worldwide economic development and become one of the deciders for governments to formulate economic policies.Based on an open Internet, any transaction message of electronic commerce transmitted through Internet would be probably intercepted, so it is greatly demanding to solve the security problem for developing electronic commerce. Electronic commerce consists of network security and business transaction security. Encryption technology, security system and security protocols are the major supports for present business transaction, while security protocol usually adopts SSL and SET protocol.SET is an open technical standard for the commerce industry as a way to facilitate secure payment of card transactions over Internet. SET has been adapted to solve many security problems that once stranded the development of electronic commerce by laying down standards and adopting various technical measures. At present it has been recognized by IETF and become an actual industrial standard.However, With restrictions of encryption and deciphering solutions, such as most solutions are merely deployed by virue of the algorithms of DBS and RSA,Plus both algorithms were once deciphered .As the consequence,The security of SET is being chanllenged. Meanwhile US government also sets strict limition over cryptogram products export, Other nations hence more would like to use their own Encryption/Deciphering algorithms. SET adaptability and security without doubt must satisfy higher requirements. Therefore it is vert urgent to research the improvement of SET Protocol, Typically the the parts of SET security and adaptability.This paper focuses on SET adaptability and security, based on the pivot project "SET Research based on Combinatorics Encryption Technology" sponsored by Chongqing Municipal government. Through thorough and comprehensive analyse on Electronic Commerce security architecture, Research on SET that involves architecture> security infrastructure, security technologies as well as transtition process ,Plus further exploriation on multi-digital certificates, multi-digital signature production and authentication ,The paper will forward a new solution by introducing a combination encryption technology which includes nesting encryption and negotiation encryption technologies to improve SET protocol adapability and security,as well as will offer an analyse and arguamatation to prove the SET transaction security, adapability and extension enhancement by virue of the introduction of the new technology.The new solution mainly concentrates on providing multi-encryption algorithms support for current softwares.Thus the implementation is not very hard,besides the original system need not to be changed a lotEnhanced SET by introducing new technology has been proved to strengthen its security and adaptability and is of great practicability...
