This paper will mainly focus on how the fluctuation of the environment temperature impacts the stability of optical source,and on the fluctuation of the IFOG's output due to it. It also introduces the principle of SLD drive and automatic temperature control and advances the reasonable thermal frame from the angle of thermal science.All the diathermanous processes of the measurement and control platform are analyzed from the angle of thermal science. We compute the design parameter of the thermoelectric refrigerator,present the measures of improving or weakening the corresponding diathermanous processes,which is the theoretical basis of the next design.A measurement and control platform based on the microprocessor AT89C51 is founded. This measurement and control platform includes a refrigeration system,a measurement and control system,and covers many fields such as electronics,mechanicals,thermals,algorithms. The paper presents the detailed design idea,design steps and design results.Finally,it introduces a lot of things about the measurement of the optical source's thermal performance,such as the condition,the principle,the steps,the parameter and the aim of this measurement. The data of the output power and the refrigeration current of optical source in the temperature fluctuation are acquired. A method of adjusting the amplificatory multiple for stabilizing the output power of optical source is found. It also analyzes the error of the experimental data and presents the plan of amelioration.
