The method based on SDAI (Standard Data Access Interface) and AP209 protocol in STEPC Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data)international standard for data exchanging between the finite element analysis (FEA) program and the post-processing systems is studied in this dissertation. The process of data input and output of AP209 formatted file by SDAI, and visualization of these data by OpenGL are discussed. The aim of technology studied in the paper is to realize multiple targets, i.e. it can connect with several FEA programs. The history, application and development tendency of CAE are introduced, and the purpose, significance, contents and technical line are given in Chapter 1.In Chapter 2, the development of STEP standard and the main contents of SDAI are introduced. As an all life cycle information modeling tool for products, EXPRESS-the describe language for STEP is briefly discussed. The significance of post-processing of FEA based on SDAI/AP209 is put, the requirement of data for the whole process of FEA is analyzed, and the structure of the information model based on AP209 is discussed in great detail in Chapter 3.Chapter 4 describes the realization of the FEA post-processing system based on SDAI/AP209, introduces the design stream figure and the method to obtain information and treat data. The OpenGL 3D figure base and MFC figure programming and man-computer interaction method for OpenGL under the VC++6.0 environment are introduced in Chapter 5.Chapter 6 introduces the function of the developed FEA post-processing system. Finally, Chapter 7 summarizes the main fruits of the whole study, and gives the prospects for the tendency of the research.
