A/D converter(ADC) is the key device in the interface between analog and digital system,is widely applied in the field of radar,communication,electronic countermeasure,sonar,satellite,missile,control system,earthquake,medicine,instrument,video device,audio device and so on. With the rapid development of computer and communication,the application of ADC is also be impelled and make great progress. Nowadays,the ADC is developing to the direction of high speed,high resolution and low power.This paper proposes a novel A/D converter method,which using the chaotic characteristic of nonlinear iteration system to perform the signal quantification,and the circuit design based on switch-capacitance are also proposed. The theoretical analysis and simulate results show that the chaotic ADC proposed in this paper overcomes the problems of the gain mismatches between stages and the mismatches between A/D and D/A in single stage in the pipeline ADC,which severely infect the resolution of ADC,And this kind of ADC also be not sensitive to noises so that the precision requirements of some components used for the system are much easier to be achieved. Therefore,using this approach we may achieve a conversion at high speed and high resolution.Chapter 1 introduce the application background and development of A/D conversion technology,and also describe the main work of this paper.Chapter 2 introduce the operation principle of ADC,and give some technical parameter to evaluate the performance of ADC,then introduce various ADC,also compare their performance.Chapter 3 introduce the design principle of chaotic ADC,and proposed a novel mapping function of A/D conversion,also give the principle chart of chaotic ADC.Chapter 4 introduce the design of the chaotic ADC circuit,and also give the simulation result in PSpice.Chapter 5 optimize the chaotic ADC from both the mapping function and the architecture of circuit,and give some theoretical analysis and comparison.
