The Study Of Embedded Intrusion Detection In Firewall

With the extension of network application, It brings huge convenience for people, and it also brings a austere problem-network security problem. In order to protect network security, many units and individuals select firewall. With the development of science and technology, now it can not satisfy the requirement of current network security depending only on firewall, the firewall must be made combination with intrusion detect technology.In this study, embed the intrusion detect system into the firewall to implement security defence. The firewall adopts the open source software ipfilter4.1 ,and the intrusion detect system adopts the open source software snort2.1 .They harmonize and cooperate to accomplish local area network's security defence. This method can provide more valid intrusion detect and corresponding defend method for the protected network.
