The measurement of axial deformation and radial deformaton of the soil specimen is very important in biaxial test. In this thesis the author developed a method for measuring the axial and radial deformation in triaxial test by analyzing the digital image from area CCD and correcting the errors. This method is more accurate and more convennient than traditioanal techniques, and can be used to deformation measurement for unsaturated soil specimn directely. With a 576*768 pixes COD, we have got 10"5m accuracy in measurement of the deformation of soil specimen.
