The primaiy ITU objectives for the 3rd Generation mobile communication system are flexible/seamless global service provision and improved operational efficiencies, particularly for data and multimedia services. On the background of the 3~ Generation mobile communication system, the thesis firstly does some research on the basic principle of CDMA, the air interface requirements for LMT-2000, the interface standard developed by our country桾D-SCDMA and the core network layout of the 3id Generation mobile communication system, then the thesis discussed the application of DSP to the 3G system especially to its channel decoding techniques. This thesis puts the emphasis on the two decoding techniques梀iterbi decoding and MAP decoding ?and their decoding implements respectively in the Texas Instruments (TI) TMS32OC54x and TMS32OC62x families of DSP devices. This thesis outlines the theories of the two decoding techniques, explains the programming techniques and the implementation steps for the two decoding algorithms, the decoding perfomiances are analyzed in this thesis, too. This thesis is referential to the research of the 3拁?Generation mobile system and its decoding techniques.
