This dissertation presents the studies of genetic algorithms (GA) based model structure and parameters conjunct identification, PID optimization, and the engineering application method.GA is a global optimization algorithms with high robust performance. It has been widely applied in automatic control field.In this dissertation, structure and parameters identification based on GA (PIGA) is put forwarded, combined with advanced GA (including the creative micro-mutation operator).On the base of efficient identification, PID optimization based on GA is put forwarded, combined with the multi-objective optimization of time domain and frequency domain performance targets. And an adaptive adjusting the control parameters strategy is present.The most applications of the GA in the automatic field are still in theoretical simulation. This dissertation presents a data communication mode between the simulative and actual systems, which uses the Matlab Engine, virtual instrument platform Labwindows/CVI, and KMM (the simulative plant). This mode presents a new method to apply e GA in the engineering to develop industrial control systems. This method is easy and intuitionistic, and valuable for engineering application.
