With the development of the software and hardware of computer, Technology of CAD has been applied to many fields of national economy, enhanced the ability of product design, shorten the period of design, raised the economic profits of enterprises. Accounting to the subject & object limits, CAD system for chemical equipment falls behind with that of machinery, and cannot meet the requirement of the development of chemical equipment. Thus, it is necessary to study and develop a set of CAD software for chemical equipment. In this paper, the basis problems of functional requirements, system design, system implement of CAD system for agitating equipment have been discussed. And problems of drawing assembly graphic automatically have been resolved. Furthermore, the author have written a CAD system for top entering shaft agitating equipment, using object-oriented method and fast-prototyping method. This system has a friendly human-computer interface. It can query database automatically, edit the documents of design automatically and draw assembly drawings automatically. The main part of the CAD system for top entering shaft agitating equipment was written in Visual C++ language. In order to manipulate Word 97 & AutoCAD 2000, the author use Automation programming technology. The codes of design and components were put into database constructed by Access 97. DAO method was used to query these database. The modules of parameterized drawing were programmed with Visual LISP. The hiding of assembly drawing was done by pre-assigning the boundary.
