Dusty p1asmas have been the subject of intensive study for astrophysics andplasma-aided manufachang. The first chapter of this thesis is to introduce theprogressing in the subject, including the special electromagnetic character and theexperimental research in dssfie1d.The second chapter is about the scattering of electromagnetic wave on chargeddust particles in a plasma. Bom approximation is utilized to obtain the differentia1scattehag cross sechon and scattering cross section for the cases when the dust grainscan (r0>>λD )and cannot (ro(?)λD)be considered as independent scatterers. If r0>>λD, the scattering by the electrons 1ytng in the Debye sphere of a dustgrain and the Rayleigh scattdrig by the dust grain are compard. It is shown that thesmaller the dust grain and the 1arger the wave length, the more intensive the formerscattering. The bigger the duSt grain and the less the wave length, the more intensivethe latter scattering. Particu1arly, as to the dusty p1asma in a certain 1ayer ofionosPhere, if the wave length is much larger than the scerening length (kλD<<1), theformer scattering is more intensive. And if the wav length is muh less than thescreening lengh (kλD >>1), the latter scattering is more intensive. The third chapter of this thesis is about the measurement in rf dusty plasmas bymeans of a double probe .Langmuir characteristics are obtained under identicalconditions except for the absence or the presence of dust. We have found that theelectron temperature Tdeis lower than the temperature Te.no.dust measured without dust.
