Neutral systems are widely found in engineering. Time delays are extensively appeared in many fields of engineering, which may cause poor performance and even instability. Recently, more and more attention has been paid to neutral systems. The main contents of this article are as follows:Firstly, neutral systems with constant time delay are studied by constructing a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using Wirtinger-based integral inequality method. The stability condition in terms of linear matrix inequality is obtained. Examples show the effectiveness of the methods. Then, the stability of neutral systems with interval time-varying delays is studied by using augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, reciprocal convex combination and Wirtinger-based integral inequality methods. Some examples are given to verify and analyze the effectiveness of our result.
