Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) has been innovated in last century. And SAR is been developed rapidly nowadays. SAR has the all-weather, day/night capability to generate high-resolution graphics of fixed targets in two dimension over a long range. With the technology development, SAR is more widely used on many fields such as military, agriculture, forestry, geology, and oceanography i.e..Synthetic Aperture means that correlative radar system and the motion of single antenna in concept. High resolution imaging radar need high speed signal process and refined motion compensation. The opposite motion between the SAR flat and the imaging area is the sticking point in acquiring the high-resolution orientation imaging. And compared with spaceborne SAR, airborne SAR demands more high resolution and it is easier to be affected by interference factor of outside and produce greater motion error than spaceborne SAR. To obtain high resolution SAR image, it is needed to carry out motion compensation. So it is important to research the motion compensation of airborne SAR system. As for UAV-borne SAR, because of the random factors in the environment, the motion of the UAV inevitably produces the motion errors. This directly results in the phase errors of the radar signals, destroys the phase correlation and orientation resolution, and blurs the quality of the image.Because of the real-time requirement, the motion compensation of UAV-borne SAR faces many engineering constraints. And motion compensation is the important step in UAV-borne SAR, which directly influences the image’s quality. It includes many software and hardware technologies. The thesis is derived from a study of UAV-borne SAR. The paper is composed of five chapters. The first chapter provides introductory definitions and the history, present situations, etc. Chapter2 provides the theory of SAR imaging and introduces the concepts of motion error. Chapter3 draw a parallel between several aerocraft in stability. And gives the design of the motion compensation system. Chapter4 provides the result in actually fly-experimentation as verification. Chapter5 gives a sum-up of this paper.
