On The Elements Of The Design Of The Temporary Exhibition Content Of The Museum

Museum holds exhibitions to transmit cultural knowledge and achieve the function of social education. With the social development and the growing of people’s spiritual and cultural needs and the tendency of the museum open for free, the museum has increasingly become a place of social education and entertainment. So it is very important to hold the excellent exhibition at the Museum’s work. Right now, the excellent exhibition is no longer confined to the basic display, planning a variety of temporary exhibitions become a priority for the museum work.The Capital Museum is a large-scale comprehensive museum in Beijing. Since the new museum opened in May 18,2006, they planned the basic displays and elaborate displays, like "Ancient Capital:Chapter on the History and Culture of Beijing" and "Select work of ancient porcelain". They also planned a large number of temporary exhibitions, and created a certain social and economic benefits.Planning temporary exhibition is a complex and systematic project, generally including overall design, content design, form design, construction, propaganda, and so on. And the quality of content design determines on the level of the exhibition. This paper is based on the my internship in Planning and Research Department in the Capital Museum and draw lessons from the Experts’ experience and research, and take the temporary exhibitions of the Capital Museum as examples, to discuss the factors in content design from exhibition theme, title, outline, exhibits, supplementary exhibits, writing and other aspects. I hope that I can make a contribution to the development of museum.
