Power line communication system is the use of a power line communication data transmission, with user, widely distributed, without re-wiring, etc., play an extremely important role in the communication field. In many areas show great advantages and prospects such as smart grid, broadband access, intelligent home and four network integration. In the home environment, low voltage power line is undoubtedly the most widely distributed cable network media, for the realization of the family provides a powerful and practical intelligent network infrastructure. However, due to the family’s power line channel environment is very bad, there are varying complexity and instability noise, impact on power line transmission quality is relatively large, severely restricting the spread and development of power line carrier technology used in home environments.Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) has a strong anti-jamming capability, bandwidth efficiency advantages, has become a power line communication technology is now an opportunity for development. In the power line communication, OFDM technology for its interference, multipath, strong ability of anti-attenuation characteristics of a good environment to overcome the harsh power line channels, has a very important significance for the development of power line communication. This also gives rise to a lot of the new generation of powerline communications standards-based technologies such as OFDM PRIME and G3standards.Aiming at the complex time-varying power line channel environment, analyze its characteristics, the establishment of a power line channel model is realistic. Using MATLAB software to build and simulation based on OFDM system power line channel model to achieve a data valid and reliable transmission of power line channel environment, error rate, and the analysis and comparison of different channel estimation type of transmission performance OFDM systems. Finally, add the impact of noise on the load line carrier communication quality PRIME and G3standards of electricity measured at different distances from the actual home environment by Texas Instruments PLC Developer’s Kit (TMDSPLCKIT v2). Summed up at different distances and different communication channel noise conditions, PRIME and G3standard communication actual transmission performance for future smart home power line carrier channel environment is mainly based on the noise source and the appropriate choice of standard communication distance measurements provide practical basis.
