With the development of the society, electrical power enterprises have an ever-increasing demand on storage management, and ask for the elimination of disqualified warehouse management capacity. Storage management capacity can be continuously improved by applying the modern technology and system software. This paper began with the introduction of the storage management system research background, then analyzed the features of electric power material storage management from different aspects, and posed some urgent problems under current storage management pattern, thus highlighted the importance and urgency of such project. The analysis of the original storage management consists of the operational analysis, functional analysis and data analysis, through which the author proposed the design goal of the material storage management system. Case studies of different functional modules such as load management, unload management, material return management, stocktaking management and query management are also applied in this paper via the transaction flow diagram, use case diagram and conceptual diagram. A detailed design of database was built on the basis of entity graph, E-R graph and database structure. Though contributed a lot, the author also pinpointed a few limitation from this system. The paper reached its conclusion by summarizing the research process, and prospects of some new developments are predicted.
