Nowadays, we have been affected by a dual function of economy and technology, and thereare unprecedented changes in all aspects of modern society, with the emergence of new mediaand, we can obtain information from so many ways, the status of broadcast media alreadycrumbled. In the course of development of the broadcast media development, format radio is amodel innovation which adapt to the new media environment,. The appearance of Format Radiomeans radio stations change from broadcasting to narrowcasting, administration to marketization,based on product-oriented to based on the needs of the audience.Format radio needs localization and innovation in the course of development, so we reallywant to know why these problems occurred, our mind scrabbled for alternatives: such as ourpositioning is inaccurate, the homogeneity due to that our reform is not complete, staffing cannot meet the needs of radio stations’development, etc..In this paper, the five provincial hostess radio in the mainland of china as a research object,I’ll analyse them combining theory and practice, maybe we can glimpse actual situation of them.First of all, the paper reviews the research background, research significance and abroadrelated research, focusing on the professionalized radio, format radio and hostess radio,specifically, the first two parts were typed on the development of China professionalized radioand Chinese hostess radio stations, lay stress on comprehensive analysis of the sample, the thirdpart for the paper find some problems and think deeply that why such problems come out, thelast part is about how to reform under the new media environment, expect to provide some usefuland feasible solutions in the development of Format Radio to promote its development.Currently, the transformation of format radio in China is not horoughly, with somespecialized and Chinese characteristics, regional development is also unbalanced, the radio isfaced with both opportunities and challenges, so this paper researched the format radio, hopingfor taht the radio of china play their advantages, and developing with the innovation.
