With the development of the Machinery automation, The machine vision gets rapid development. It has been widely used in foreign countries because of its detection efficiency and accuration. With the development of the automation market, The machine vision receives attention. The thesis based on the case of studying abroad research discusses the target object matching and image edge extraction by the project of workpiece detection. And on this basis, we develop a set of detection system which consistent with the test results. The hardware of a certain type of system includes: Telecentric lens, light, frame grabbers, industrial cameras, computer and some auxiliary equipment. We use the LED with diffuse board as the light because of its price, low power, durability. It is very suitable for detection. The feature of the CMOS industrial camera is low price and small power consumption. The software of a certain type of system is the Halcon image processing toolkit which is developed by the MVtec company, the target analyte will be extracted by many classical algorithms. Besides a series of arithmetic operation will be used to deel with the extracted region, we can also use them to achieve the goal of detection tasks. In this thesis, we conduct the research and analysis of three aspects: Image Edge Extraction, Image template matching, Thresholding algorithm to measure. We can get a effective and accurate detection method by analysising three algorithm. This thesis has two innovation, firstly we can achieve a precise measurement tool on the circle by programming in the environment of Halcon. Secondly we can achieve a detection method based on threshold segmentation algorithm which is different from the traditional template matching.
