Because of the small volume, low power consumption, long service life, White LEDs is replacing the traditional light source in the illumination and the signal indication. The extensive application of LED provides precondition advantage for the development of visible light communication system. Based on the background of indoor visible light communication applications, full duplex visible light communication system is built to give access to the Internet.Through the analysis of channel model and noise sources, the overall design scheme of the system is determined. Through the design of the transmitter array, transmitter drive circuit, receiver circuit, interface module and the power module, a practical application of indoor visible light communication system is built. The light intensity distribution of the system and reliable communication distance are measured. The measurement results show when the transmitter is composed of 7 light spots, DC bias is set to 310 mA, the communication baud rate is 115.2Kbit/s, the communication distance along the axis can reach 8.4m. Further work to explore is how the system access to the network, the specific work content includes the conversion of the protocol of TCP/IP to UART based on network module; the realization of CDMA system in the visible light communication system based on CPLD. The potential applications of the intelligent home furnishing equipment management and indoor navigation are outlined.
