In recent years, with the rapid development of smart grid technology, Power Line Communication(PLC) network has been gradually applied in people’s production and living fields. Compared with the wireless communication technology, PLC has no need to repeat construction. Therefore, PLC is a communication network with strong competitiveness. However, the conventional PLC system is in presence of low transmission rate, unreliable transmission and the problem of higher outage probability. Expanding the research work for the above problems, the main research results obtained are as follows:(1) Aiming at improving the capacity of traditional power line channel, based on multiple input multiple output(MIMO) channel model, PLC system using multiple power supply line to send signals simultaneously established. This paper analyses capacity of the traditional PLC system and the capacity of MIMO-PLC system. Respectively simulate for traditional PLC system and MIMO-PLC system. The simulation results show that the capacity of MIMO-PLC is about 2 times of traditional PLC capacity.(2) Interference between users in MIMO-PLC is a larger problem. This paper introduces a maximizing capacity pre-coding method to reduce the interference between users. In PLC system achieve the traditional pre-coding method. For more concentrated pre-coding algorithm are simulated. The simulation results show that the pre-coding method to maximize the capacity of MIMO-PLC system has better performance.(3) In order to solve the problem of high outage probability, this paper introduces a PLC system based on two-way amplify and forward relay technology. Analyses the received SNR probability distribution of PLC channel with relay. Using the received SNR probability distribution, we deduce the average bit error rate, the interrupt probability and channel capacity. The simulation results show that, PLC relay system channel capacity increase significantly, interrupt probability and the symbol error rate are greatly reduced.Therefore, this article proposed MIMO technology and relay technology for PLC system introduced in this paper can improve the communication efficiency of the system, achieved the desired results.
