With the rapid development of virtual reality using in teaching, people are moreand more interested in high-resolution, wide viewing angle display system. To meetthe needs of learners and to achieve educational goals, we’d add a highly immersivevirtual reality system in some teaching. Those systems provide a simulation-basedand immersive environment for students’ study, deepening their awareness andunderstanding of abstract knowledge, helping them to perceive the reality of real lifeexperience, so as to enhance the quality of teaching. With gradual improvement oftechnology, immersive VR environment is developed, but constructing such a systemincurs integration of complex and substantial expenditures, being unable to meet theactual teaching targets of different levels of school. All those make creating a newsystem with new technology become urgent in modern education system, one withgreat immersive, integration of simple, low costs.This article established a multi-projection plane immersive teaching system,composed of hardware and software. The system consists of PC cluster and DLPprojectors built a2*2high-resolution display systems, provides learners largeviewing angle, high telepresence learning environment.In order to achieve large viewing angle, high-resolution screen display, the mostimportant thing is to achieve the multi-projector output images on the screen isseamless, that is by splicing to display the full smooth screen. This article focuses onthe research of multi-projectors large format mosaic, mainly involves two keytechnologies: geometric correction and color correction techniques. Based on thestudy of the existing geometry correction and color correction, through amathematical model and color model to achieve the geometric correction and colorcorrection algorithm of multi-projector and then build the prototype system. All thesechanged the large costs, long correction cycle and human intervention problems onthe process of the traditional multi-projectors large format mosaic. The whole is carried process only by means of an ordinary digital camera, without input screenparameters and camera parameters, it is simple and flexible, greatly reducing the costof equipment and manual intervention and making multi-projector immersiveteaching system in the entire education sector possible.We lastly discussed the application of this system in teaching, listing someexamples of it, and analyzed its advantages and potential applications.
