With the wide application of computer and network technology in society nowadays, information management systems in every field have now been implemented more and more. The Hospital Information System (HIS) has also rapidly developed under this environment. In order to build a more scientific and reasonable hospital management system, the modern technology such as computer and network are used to replace the previous management mode, which can greatly improve the efficiency of the hospital. Therefore, the automation of the hospital’s information system is necessary. Information management system can effectively collect various data of the hospital, and further provide the management agent of the hospital real time information for decision making. The hospital information management system at home has just started for a short time, and there are some difficulties not yet being resolved. In order to solve some of the existing bottlenecks, this article uses the Model View Controller (MVC) pattern in the management system. The MVC pattern can effectively distinguish the application model, visualization and controller, to achieve the co-development of the project and the code reuse. The introducing of this technology can improve the operating efficiency of the HIS and enhance the hospital’s competitive strength. This paper first gives a detailed analysis of the existing HIS and its current development situation, points out the problems in its operation and development. To effectively solve the existing problems, the paper introduces the MVC technology into the HIS, and gives a description of the MVC technology in details. Then, a requirement specification is conducted about the HIS. The development goals of the system are set according to the analysis of operating processes and division of functional modules. Finally, the HIS is carefully designed and developed. A systematic discussion of the performance of the system is done, and the drawbacks of the system are raised for future improvements.
