Due to the characteristics of the petroleum industry, oilfields are always distributed in the remote and scarcely-populated regions, which has brought some problems to the oilfield data transmission. Based on the specific conditions of power lines&network on the site of some oilfields, the oilfield transmission scheme based on the power line communication technology was proposed in this paper to resolve transmission of oilwell-related data from the oilwell’s RTU to the central station. As the existing power line network in oilfields are in good operating conditions and can be used directly, no investment for physical line modification will be required, so as to save the cost greatly.In association with the power line network and data transmission requirements of oilfield, the oilfield data transmission scheme based on the power line communication technology was provided in this paper to settle the data transmission problem between the oilwelll and the central station. This paper mainly analyzed and completed the hardware and software design of oilfield data transmission module.The oilfield data transmission module adopted the51microcontroller as the MCU. The MI200E chip was selected as the power line communication chip of the oilfield data transmission module to complete the peripheral circuit design, including design of the power circuit, transmission circuit, receiving circuit, coupling circuit and zero-crossing detection circuit.By analyzing the specific requirements on the oilfield data transmission, requirements for software design were proposed. The data transmission module software design includes the communication software between the module and the equipment and software for power line communication. Keil was used as the development platform, and C Language was adopted to complete the program development.Through the actual debugging of power line carrier module, its property indexes in the communication quality was tested. It was proved that the plan can meet the requirements of oilfield data transmission and can be applied to data transmission between the oilwell and the central station to make the central station receive the oilwell data timely.
