Computer games commonly employ monitors for displaying images, player experiences are limited by screen size and field of view of games. With rapid development of virtual reality and parallel rendering system, it has more attention on how to offer player a larger size, high resolution, and wide viewing immersive game. It has been more mature on the development of cluster-based parallel rendering, large screen display and virtual reality frameworks. However, parallel rendering game has a mount of synchronous data, existing virtual reality frameworks cannot meet requirements of parallel rendering game. In addition, existing immersive display systems are generally designed for certain form of display surfaces, which is not suitable for multiple display scenarios.This thesis presents an immersive stereoscopic game framework using commercial game engine, our framework emphasizes synchronous data transfer protocol for parallel rendering game with cluster-based multi-projector stereoscopic display. Compared with current systems, our framework has the following features:Design and implement one efficient, scalable and reliable synchronization mechanism based on Multicast protocol for synchronizing game object states and interaction events;Design and implement one easy-to-use configuration specification for cluster-based multi-projector stereoscopic display scenarios, including display wall, CAVE, cylindrical surface and spherical surface;Design and implement a method of generating projection region spherical textures for spherical Dome using cluster-based multi-projector display.This thesis implements one cluster-based multi-projector game using Unity game engine based on our framework. With our immersive game prototype, we compare Multicast-based protocol with other protocols. Experimental results illustrate that Multicast-based protocol has better performance and scalability compared with TCP, RUDP and RSP protocols. Our immersive stereoscopic display game supports multiple display environment with cluster-based multi-projector display, which has good stereoscopic and immersive effects.
