Design And Implementation Of Web - Based Course Scheduling Management System

With the rapid development and extensive application of computer and networktechnology, colleges all over the countries focus on the construction and itsapplication of digital compus. The system for course selecting and coursescheduling, part of the information of educational administrative, is one of the mostimportant parts of the digital compus.The system aims to solve several problems remaining in the previousmanagement of the teaching information, such as the inconvenience of informationconveying, tedious procedures and its inefficiency. The web-based system for courseselecting and course scheduling enables the students to select their courses on line, toenroll their personal information, as well as helps the academic staff to schedulecourses, manage courses and statistically analysize courses and so on.The system must meet the need of high stability, security and maintainability,because it can have enormous effect on the normally operation of the teaching andlearning in the whole college and it involves in the dynamic adjustment of the coursesand classrooms. Baed on adequate analysis and research, the following keytechnologies are applied to design and implement the system: identity authentication,the solution to the resourse conflicts among courses selecting and scheduling,automatically scheduling and course timetables automatically made,etc. Backtrackingalgorithm is applied in the course of the courses scheduling. The algorithm not onlyreduces a large number of repetition of the program codes, but also improves thequality of the system and performance.The paper analysizes the correlative technologies applied in the design andimplementation of the systm on the basis of introducing research background,domestic and oversea research status, purpose of the research and its significance. Itanalyses correlative technologies such as MVC and Strus2software architecture,discusses in detail the analysis, design and implementation of the web-based systemfor courses selecting and scheduling as well as analyses, studies and discusses indepth several key technologies applied in the course of the design and implementationof the system.
