China And The United States Draft Reality Show, A Comparative Study

Because of its interactive and community participation, "Draft reality show" becomes the most influential part of reality show. In this paper, American "Draft reality show" is compared with Chinese programs. First,"Draft reality show"is defined as one of reality show, and has all characteristics of reality show. Second, according to its popularity,"Draft reality show"is differentiated from other kinds of programs. Third, according to the difference of its contents,"Draft reality show"is classified to clarify its development.In chapter 2, hot Chinese and American programs are compared. To find out the difference and similarity of programming, a typical program in both countries is compared in each classification, such as rules of the game, program forms and the scope of players.In chapter 3, Chinese and American "Draft reality show" programs are introduced in chronological order, and compared in programming mode, business strategy and technology to find out the gap. The problems of Chinese "Draft reality show" are addressed, and their solutions are proposed. We should learn something from American "Draft reality show" to develop our own program. American cultural background is very important to understand its "Draft reality show" and can't be neglected.In chapter 4, the reason why Chinese reality show is inadaptable with American reality show at beginning is analyzed to be negligence of the cultural background. The different social values under different cultures are organized and analyzed. These differences influence the policy of communication system, psychology of audiences and methodology of programming.In chapter 5, we suggest that from the differences of Chinese and American programs, we should get what we need and what fit us, and develop our own way to make our reality show better. This is the main idea of this paper.
