Fingerprint Identification System And Its Enhancement Algorithms

With the advent of network society and the growing popularity of e-commerce, traditional systems which rely on a token or password has been facing serious challenges. And biometric security technology has become a hot research subsequently. Among them fingerprint identification technology is the most acceptable, automatic and mature biometric technology. However, in practice application, a large amount of fingerprint images are of poor quality, in order to precisely extract the fingerprint features and provide reliable basis for fingerprint identification and thus improve the overall system performance, an effective enhancement processing is needed. Traditional enhancement algorithms are implemented in software, and the efficiency is very low, and uses Verilog realization can greatly improving the processing speed.In this paper, according to the basic principle of fingerprint identification in this field, some existing research results have been collected, firstly the development, application and research status of fingerprint identification is described, and then the working principle of fingerprint identification system is expatiated, and finally focuses on the fingerprint recognition technology in the pre-image enhancement. During fingerprint image enhancement, the combination of Gabor theory analysis of the traditional image enhancement methods are described in detail the implementation of fingerprint enhancement module and some improvements were made for some of the algorithms, comparing the pictures before and after the fingerprint image preprocessing algorithm.At last, the paper summarized the work of this issue completed, did the evaluation of experimental results and looked forward to the future to the continued...
