It is of a great significance to ensure that hoisting machinery operates safely, as the hoisting machinery is a important special equipment which applied widely. This paper researches the analysis and prediction automatic method of fault, failure, defect which is in inspection data of hoisting machinery, designs and realizes a software system by using data mining technology.The main research work is as follows:1) According to the actual requirements on safety inspection of hoisting machinery, the feasibility and significance that predicting and diagnosing mechanical fault automatically by the decision tree method and that analyzing the correlation of defects and failure on hoisting machinery by association rules were described;2) Based on the needs analysis of inspecting hoisting machinery, the architecture , overall function ,E-R figure of inspection data mining system of hoisting machinery were given, which using the ideas and methods of software engineering;3) Data mining system of hoisting machinery on inspection data was realized with the development tool of MyEclipse, what is more, the system was proved to be feasible and effective by using inspection data of hoisting machinery which provided by Shenyang institute of special equipment inspection.
