SpaceDesktop has achieved the feature of virtual roaming scenarios, but the management and organization about the three-dimensional window can't meet the requirement of the display and operation about the window of two-dimensional in the three-dimensional environment. How to implement the fit the two-dimensional windows and three-dimensional environment is the main research subject of this paper.During the past decades, the computers have became a part of our life, and the operating system's interface changed from the CUI(Command User Interface) to the GUI(Graphical User Interface). Recent years, with the continuous improvement of the CPU and performance of GPU, as the continuous development of the technology about the virtual reality and human computer interface, three-dimensional interface gradually become a research hotspot. Especially the desktop display and interactive in three-dimensional environment, it is the focus of the industry. Three-dimensional human-computer interaction has become a next-generation orientation about operating system interface.The technology of fitting two-dimensional windows and three-dimensional environment points out a new direction of interactive. In order to achieve the purpose of fitting, so that the current applications'two-dimensional windows can display and operated in three-dimensional desktop environment, and have the relevant characteristics of three-dimensional environment.This paper described and researched the mechanism and structure of traditional X windows in details, reached the purpose of get the traditional 2D windows information and put them displayed in the 3D desktop by changing the X server, which The 2D windows can be fitted perfectly in the 3D desktop.In order to display two-dimensional windows in three-dimensional environment, we must first obtain and store the original data of Two-dimensional window. In this paper, the XVFB(X virtual frame buffer) technology is used, and the original two-dimensional window information is saved to the virtual frame buffer, in accordance with the actual situation of the current three-dimensional environment, using OpenGL technology and projection technology, the two-dimensional window is mapped to the three-dimensional environment and displayed. At last, three-dimensional environment seamlessly takes over of two-dimensional window.At the end of this paper, the work is summarized and the further proposes methods and objectives of research.
