Fingerprint identification, one of the biometric identification technologies, is an old-aged but new technology carefully explored and widely implemented in recent years. Fingerprints are unique in identifying human individual, and together with the development of electronic technology and computer science and technology, the technology of fingerprint identification has also entered into a new era—the time of AFTS (Automatic Fingerprint Identification System). Formerly it was mainly applied to criminal investigation, now it has been widely used in every walk of life, such as industry, agriculture, education, daily life, civilian, etc.This essay discusses the touch screen terminals that are to be installed in the new teaching management system of Dali University. Both the students and teachers can participate in all kinds of teaching activities by means of logon technology of fingerprint identification on them/Then it analyzes the process and algorithm of fingerprint collecting, fingerprint image de-noising, image binary processing, fingerprint minutiae storing, fingerprint image storing, and real-time fingerprint matching and recognition. The study of the comprehensive and mature application of early fingerprint identification technology. In addition, it puts forward a matching algorithm of point and assembly classifying fingerprints according to making their types fine of the fingerprint. In this way the operation of fingerprint matching has been greatly simplified, the storage demands reduced and'the storage time shortened. As the consequence, the users can log on very quickly.To get more characteristics of fingerprint identification on the same fingerprint image, this essay mainly studies extraction methods from sweat gland pore of fingerprint characteristics of the third layer, based on the current widely used traditional technology of automatic fingerprint identification. Through extracting these characteristics, on the one hand, it can achieves high identification accuracy on the basis of normal fingerprint; on the other hand, it further solves the difficult problems of fingerprint image identification like shallow fingerprint lines, naturally breakdown fingerprint and finger skin peeling.Through the study and analysis of the actually captured fingerprints, this essay testifies that the ideas and algorithm proposed in it can efficiently help fulfill various functions of the touch screen terminals of the teaching management system in Dali University. Thus, it can really meet the demands of both teachers and students of Dali University.
