In this paper, a solution scheme of digital signal processing software was used to a spectrum analyzer which was based on AD6620 + DSP hardware platform. Also, the implement of the software was briefly presented.First, the basic principles of the spectrum analyzer and the current advanced technical schemes were introduced. Secondly, the platform of software and hardware was described in detail. Then, the overall digital signal processing software design ideas, and the design of the software testing process were presented. Finally, according to test results, it is shown that the designed software fully meet with the requirement of project.The contents of this paper include briefly as following.1, The principle of digital down converter was introduced, and the digital down converter was used in control of software to move the band-limited signal to baseband.2, A decimation filter was designed and used to resample the high-speed sampling signal.3, The RF front end was controlled by the software to complete the local oscillator scanning and signal conditioning (amplification, attenuation).4, The digital detector technology or FFT were used to calculate the signal spectrum, in order to meet the requirements of the resolution bandwidth (RBW) and the analysis bandwidth (SPAN).5, By receiving commands and sending the data of the spectrum, DSP can communicate with PC.
