In recent years, with the city traffic video monitoring technology unceasing development, there are more and more video surveillance equipment, electron optics, traffic management, to obtain from the video image crossroads is the most intuitionistic traffic information from video images can be operator to gain the scene of intuitive, but the traffic situation of information is qualitative, often just a check/video crossing the road, plus the manpower, traffic video monitoring has not yet reached real-time intelligent traffic data analysis and processing of information, not to mention the ability to lead to tap the role traffic.In this thesis, the issue of the study and discussion of vehicle information access to based on the AVS standard video surveillance management platform for intelligent traffic on the transport system, we also improved detection algorithm for traffic flow improvements to make it more responsive to real-time detection of road vehicles. The main work of this thesis is as follows:First, based on the basic concept of digital image processing, expounds the theory, and introduces the basic method of digital image processing. The research of the AVS standards include video state of the AVS development history, the main characteristics and advantages of the AVS, the system structure and development prospects.Then, this thesis studied on the ITS video surveillance system's architecture, that mean was, the AVS standard video surveillance under the intelligent traffic management system structure. This article was based on the DSP platform, the vehicle detection and traffic information extraction, in the traffic video compression and transmission stages of the acquisition and use of all AVS standard.Finally, traffic flow detection algorithms have been designed. Focused studies based on mathematical morphology and virtual line detection algorithm, improvements on this basis and simulation results of the experiment. We summarized on the thesis, given the future direction of this article and looking forward to a good application prospects.
