The number of people burying their heads in mobile phones video games, along with vivid expressions on their faces in subways,airports and bus stations is increasing. Going around in the mobile phone markets,it's not surprising that entertainment function in the mobile phone system is flourishing,in particular various games. it's no doubt that people is getting used to taking mobile phones as an entertaining tool while mobile phones have become part of our lives.At present, mobile phones users in china have exceeded 0.4 billion. however,even with the amazing growth number,it's far from getting to its full capacity. therefore,obviously the potential of the market and business chance is more than attractive. after being satisfied with basic needs for communication, over 0.4 billion mobile phone users desire to get richer wireless value added service. based on this fact,mobile phone game industry has caught the attention from government relevant departments,domestic and overseas carriers, service providers. what's more,china mobile, an important carrier in china,has taken mobile phone game industry as a new strategic project for further and greater profit.This academic paper analyzes the development trend of mobile phone games and the current research situation home and abroad. Then it systematically explains the developing platform and related technologies required for mobile phone games based on j2me language. Taking the shooting game《crazy fruit》as a detailed example,it introduces how the game engine is designed,including game structure,game rules,program management,game image and toll-gate design etc. Crucial technologies and skills related to games development are discussed,namely, double buffering technology,tiledlayer,sprite collision test,setclip graphic processing and optimization of calculation. After a detailed analysis on disadvantages of currently existing development modes, this essay proposes shortcut key development mode aiming at improving the efficiency including J2ME polish ,map editor,animation manager and transplant of game programs. At last,it draw a conclusion of the game development procedures and shortcut key development mode and point out these technologies are expected to be improved.
