Vehicle three-dimensional information gathering system is consisted of many devices,which are GPS,INS,Linear array CCD camera,Laser Scanner and other Sensor devices. This system is essentially the combination of the above processing equipment, the aim is three-dimensional modeling for the road and of buildings scanned by vehicle systems, to access a three-dimensional geographical model of city quickly.Vehicle three-dimensional information gathering system use combination of location, orientation system to locate precisely, which is consist of GPS,INS,Speedometer. GPS Navigation has High accuracy, Long-term stability, but its signals susceptible to be interference, the reliability is poor in a dynamic environment. INS output data stably, the short-term stability is good, however, rapid accumulation of navigation accuracy increase with time. Speedometer can measure the loading speed accurately, but which can make cumulative errors by the tire deformation, road conditions and the cumulative distance. Assemble navigation consisted by the GPS, INS and speedometer, its performance exactly complementary, full play to their strengths, which address the shortcomings of traditional Combination Positioning. Therefore, it is recognized as the best option now.A great deal of research by designing experiments, we found that the accuracy of combination by GPS,INS,Speedometer is higher than GPS positioning singly and combination by GPS/INS. Output attitude information is convergence rapidly by combined, which resolved the problems of inertial navigation system error accumulation increased with time and single GPS positioning signals susceptible to interference, poor reliability in a dynamic environment. The combination system of GPS,INS,Speedometer give the attitude of carrier and position information, which not only ensure the continuity of positioning, but also achieve higher accuracy than GPS/INS combination. Therefore, combination system by GPS,INS and speedometer applied to the positioning and orientation of vehicle laser scanning system, which can improve the precision and speed of three-dimensional data acquisition greatly.
