Analysis and design of microstrip reflectarray antenna and plane Archimedes spiral antenna are researched in this paper. The research works are divided into two parts:a microstrip reflectarray antenna of 1200 millimeter aperture whose working frequency is 94GHz is made in the first part; and an ultra-wideband double-armed Archimedes spiral antenna at 2GHz-18GHz is developed in the second part.In the design of microstrip reflectarray, we firstly introduce the theory of parabolic reflector antenna, microstrip antenna, microstrip reflectarray antenna, and the classical reflectarray structures for phase shift. And the cross dipole structure is chosen for the design of microstrip reflectarray. Then we write the programs for the design of microstrip reflectarray by Matlab software, and the experimental research is underway. The main work includes the following aspects:1. Understand the reflectarray structures for phase shift, choose specific element model, obtain the phase curve between unit cell's size and reflected field through using HFSS software;2. By geometrical optics, the aperture of the reflectarray, the position of the feed, and the main radiation direction, write the programs for calculating the size of the unit cell at different position by Matlab software;3. By the second step, obtain the parameters of a small microstrip reflectarray and then make the model in the Feko software, validate and modify the programs by the simulation results;4. Based on the researches above, make the operation drawing by AutoCAD software, and the experimental study is underway.In the design of plane Archimedes spiral antenna, we firstly introduce the theory of the non-frequency antenna and the plane Archimedes spiral antenna. Then the radiator of plane Archimedes spiral antenna is made which the diameter is 58mm, and we optimize the radiator by simulation results. For the radiator of plane Archimedes spiral antenna is a balance structure, a microstrip balun is made for feeding the radiator. In the end, the experiment of the plane Archimedes spiral antenna has been done. The main work includes the following aspects:1. Understand the theory of the plane Archimedes spiral antenna, make the model of the radiator by CST software, and modify the parameters of the radiator by the simulation results;2. Design the microstrip balun for matching the balanced radiator and the impendence of the antenna by using HFSS software;3. Make the whole model of the plane Archimedes spiral antenna in HFSS software and modify the parameters of the antenna by the simulation results;4. Based on the researches above, make the operation drawing of the radiator and microstrip balun by AutoCAD software, then carry out experimental study of the plane Archimedes spiral antenna.
