With the rapid development of computer net work and multimedia technology, the renovate is happened in education mode, distance learning will to be the mainstream way in nowadays education mode. Among them, the distance learning has low cost and broke the times pace of classroom to limit really of characteristics. It has a unique advantage in the modern distance education.This thesis studies a multimedia distance learning system design and implementation. In the process of the design and implementation of multimedia distance learning system, this thesis discussed the online media in real-time IP transmission scheme. Media data in order to achieve the client synchronized sequential playback. First, RTP and RTCP transport protocol are analyzed such as quality of service through the simultaneous transmission of multimedia technology and its related theories. For data transmission jitter, delay, synchronization can be used on specific issues such as dynamic changes to adapt to network transmission delay adjustment algorithm to achieve media synchronization data synchronization in the continuous playback client, in order to ensure the audio and video data in real-time playback in the teaching process. Second, analyze the function of each module which according to the system design. At the same time, implemented JMF client-side and analyzed server-side. Finally, we got the system synchronization capability result through the simulation test program; verify the feasibility of simultaneous adjustment algorithm. Demonstrate that the algorithm can dynamically adjust the network delay changes in the media unit of playback time, to ensure continuous playback of audio streams to achieve a multi-media distance learning system in synchronized media.Through the test, the result showed the multimedia distance learning system designed well. It is reasonable and practical to design ideas and methods showed in this thesis. And these are valuable for developing similar system.
